THE FOOD WE BELIEVE IN…

is simple, fresh, seasonally appropriate, and always delicious. Food should be enjoyed and shared, not fussed over or kept precious.

We like our food to look real, feel real, and taste incredible. Enough said.

WE FEED THE SOUL.

Our food has heart. It’s all lovingly prepared from scratch ingredients by expert hands.

Whether a simple macaroni and cheese casserole, sea scallop risotto, or your Thanksgiving turkey, all our dishes are crafted with extra care and integrity of flavor and technique.

Chef Christine works individually with clients to match menus with their vision and budgets - no party is too small, and no event is impossible!

THE STORY BEHIND THE STOVE

Executive Chef and Owner Christine Wendland has garnered a reputation in the Central New Jersey region for her authentic, inspired interpretation of local farm fare.

She is a top graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, and has won several awards for creative recipes. Most recently, she was a winner on The Food Network programs “Chopped” (July 4, 2017), and appeared on Supermarket Stakeout (July 12, 2022).

Her myriad of experiences, from formal wedding services for 200+ guests, to the most intimate of in-home dinner parties, to artisan bread and cheese making, make HoopHouse a stand out for upscale, rustic catering services and recipe development. She is well versed and quite comfortable cooking in many wordly and regional cuisines, including American South, Provincial French, Thai, Italian, and Indian. In addition to catering fabulous events, you can also find her handmade sourdough breads and pastries at select farm markets, all summer long.
